Fear of getting fired is a real thing - and rightfully so for most of us.
Many have a family, and feeding and housing them is instinctual - and who wants to let their friends know they got fired?
But we tell ourselves it won't happen as long as we're "a good employee."
David McIlwaine was that "good employee" that showed up every day, met his quotas, and did the work. BUT, a corporate merger eliminated his job. And then it happened again.
